Here‘s a Quick Tip on How to Get a Fast Overview of Your Projects

Whether you’re managing people remotely or on-site, you may not always be able to see what your team is doing or if they’re on the right track.

That’s why we require anyone working with us to check in with their manager once a day and answer these simple questions:

  1. How are you?
  2. What’s new in the project?
  3. Anything blocking you?

Now, you can tweak the questions and add more human touch to them, which is extremely important, especially when working remotely. Which one sounds better to you?:

  1. How are you? → ☀️ Hello, how are you today?
  2. What’s new in the project? → 🔍 How is the project going? Please provide current information about the progress.
  3. Anything blocking you? → ⚠️ Are there any blockers, or any pending responses from a team member or client? Feel free to tag them.

You know, sound like a human, human. Especially if you’re only meeting each other online.

And you can even automate the whole process of daily check-in with chatbots. We use Geekbot for this purpose. Each day, each team member receives the three questions to chat with their new bot-friend. If they don’t reply, they get a gentle reminder not to forget to share the status.

So, it’s that easy, and you’ll have a basic overview of how your projects are progressing every single day.
